Outlining Texts in Photobie

This tutorial will teach you how to make an outline around your text. First type in your text by clicking on your text tool, if possible choose a lighter shade of color for your text. Now, on your layer manager, clone your text layer like so:

Now, be sure you are on the cloned layer, click on the adjust color balance tool as shown:

Then this window should pop-up. Adjust the brightness and contrast like so:

Notice how the color turned to black.

Next, click on Filter=>Embedded Filters=>Smooth, and this window should appear. Drag the bar to the right, notice the text getting blurry as you drag it further? You can do this if you would like your text to glow. But for this tutorial we like an outline, so just drag it a little bit, just enough to make the cloned text bigger than the original.

Now, click on Filter=>Embedded Filters=>Sharpen. The filter control form window will appear again. Now, drag the bar to the right like so:

Doing this will make your outline a lot crisper without the blurriness.

Then, go to your layer manager and clone the layer 2 times or as many times as you like, depending on how dark and thick you want your outline to be.

Now, check the 3 layers then remove merge like so:

Then, we just have to move the layer at the back of the original text by clicking on the green arrow pointing up.
